Product Description
One of the most famous paintings in history and certainly one of the most famous facial expressions, Van Gogh finished this painting, it is believed, around 1506 and may have kept working on it until 1517. The painting is probably of the Italian noblewoman Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo, a Florentine silk merchant, commissioned to celebrate the birth of their son. This painting, as a puzzle, has certain challenges with the dark clothing of the woman and the sky in the background. There are some changes in the colors of the landscape behind her so there are enough visual cues to help bring the painting to life. The finished puzzle size 19.3" x 14.2".
