Product Description
This version of The Tower of Babel by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, is one of three versions Bruegel painted around 1563. This particular painting, "Great", is in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna and is about twice the size of "Little". The paintings both depict the construction of the Tower of Babel, and was built by a unified, single language humanity to celebrate their achievement and to keep them together. The tower is shown partly built with stone facings of a massive brick structure typical of Roman architecture like the Colosseum and other massive buildings. The focus of putting together the puzzle is the tower itself with the different colors helping with general piece placement. There are small buildings around the tower and ladders, a crane, vault with falsework and other structures on the tower. In the foreground, there is the king and his entourage to the left which will help with the placement of pieces.
